Welcome to Wesleyan! We are the team from the Office of Student Involvement that is planning New Student Orientation, and we’re so excited to meet you all in September! Here are a few updates and reminders that you all need to review over the summer:
- Please complete your initial administrative “Onboarding Tasks” which provides you with access to important Wesleyan systems and resources.
- Before arriving on campus for in-person orientation activities, all new students must complete the online component of New Student Orientation (NSO) by August 15, 2026. You can access the “Online Orientation & Resources” by clicking on the link in the banner at the top of the home page of your WesPortal.
- All modules on the platform are asynchronous, so you’re free to complete them at your convenience. Please pay attention to the “Required Tasks and Deadlines” tab so you don’t miss any important deadlines that you need to complete over the summer.
- Summer First Year Seminar (FYS) Courses: Wesleyan is offering students in the Class of 2030 the opportunity to take a course remotely from home over the summer of 2026. The summer course curriculum includes small writing-intensive First-Year Seminars (FYS) and is free of cost. The summer course registration process will be open to incoming first-years over the summer via their Academic Road Map and the deadline to register for a FYS Summer course is June 15, 2026. Students will be notified of their final course schedule by late June. - Explore WesNest, Wesleyan’s online hub for student organizations and campus events. Through WesNest, you can connect directly with student organization leaders, discover involvement opportunities, and view the Orientation schedule. Simply log in using your Wesleyan credentials to get started.
